February 10, 2020 – Milan – Pigro will take part in the Startup Arena at Sirti Imprenditivity, where it will present its proposal during the Sirti Annual Meeting 2020, to be held on February 11 at the Auditorium of the “Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology” in Milan.

As part of the Call4Startup organized by Sirti, a company specialized in technological infrastructures, Pigro was selected among the 10 most promising startups to compete in the final round of Imprenditivity.

Sirti created the Imprenditivity program to engage innovative companies and SMEs in the development of high-tech projects. The goal is to drive corporate innovation by improving operations, knowledge sharing, and risk management through technological solutions.

Pigro’s proposal focuses on innovation in the area of Field Data Feedback—offering a solution to synthesize the knowledge generated during project activities and make it easily accessible to different departments, improving efficiency and competitiveness.

The solution relies on Pigro’s software, powered by artificial intelligence, which extracts information from the company’s knowledge base and provides a virtual assistant capable of delivering relevant answers to support internal Helpdesk and Customer Service operations.

Pigro’s proposal also addresses another challenge under Imprenditivity, namely the “Sirti Global Village”: the development of an easy-to-use, mobile-enabled social intranet to foster interaction and connection among employees.

What is Imprenditivity?

The Imprenditivity Call4Startup was launched by Sirti based on the principles of open innovation and co-innovation—approaches every company should embrace when facing change.

The Imprenditivity project consists of two phases:

  1. Phase One involved Sirti employees in a creative contest to generate ideas addressing real problems or creating new business opportunities.

  2. Phase Two includes a Call4Startup to implement the best ideas with innovative businesses and SMEs. Selected proposals may receive funding and be developed in partnership with Sirti.

Phase One: Innovation Clusters

The internal contest identified four innovation needs expressed by Sirti employees, representing core areas where the company—and others like it—seek innovation:

  • Cluster 1 – Sirti Goes Digital: Creating business value through process transformation and standardization, new operational models, and tools that improve efficiency, agility, and cost reduction.

  • Cluster 2 – People & Culture: Introducing tools and methods for training, information, knowledge management, sharing best practices, and employee engagement.

  • Cluster 3 – Focus on Customer: Delivering new or improved services. Ideas should introduce tools, technologies, or business models that enhance Sirti’s offerings and generate value for new or existing clients.

  • Cluster 4 – Safety & Health: Improving risk assessment and safety controls to protect worker health. Looking for solutions that make safety checks more effective and reduce risks inherent to staff activities.

Phase Two: The Startup Challenge

Based on the four identified clusters, the best ideas were turned into five innovation challenges, for which startups are invited to propose market-ready solutions:

  1. Control Drones

  2. MENS (Mobile Environmental Sensing)

  3. Digital Safety

  4. Field Data Feedback

  5. Sirti Global Village

Startups that aligned with the challenges applied online and were evaluated by the Imprenditivity team. Selected startups were invited to the Startup Arena to present their solutions to Sirti’s panel of judges.

The most compelling presentation will advance to the final stage of the program, where the business proposal and business plan will be reviewed by Sirti’s Investment Committee for potential approval and development.
