Pigro among the 14 innovative startups selected by Leonardo for the Hackathon challenge

Near the Institute of Military Aeronautical Sciences, inside Parco delle Cascine, the first hackathon focused on Artificial Intelligence in the aerospace sector, titled “AIRtificial Intelligence”, will take place.
Leonardo, a global high-tech company and one of the world’s leaders in Aerospace, Defense, and Security, together with the Italian Air Force, has launched a challenge for startups, universities, and developers. The goal is to identify possible solutions that, through artificial intelligence, can optimize maintenance and training operations in the military aeronautical field.
The first selection phase for startups, university students, and developers was held on November 7. All selected participants—chosen based on the quality of their proposed solutions—have earned the right to take part in the hackathon challenge. The initiative will conclude with the announcement of the winning team and runner-up during the two-day event in December.
Fourteen innovative startups specializing in artificial intelligence were selected, including Pigro, which will develop and present a demo of its virtual assistant, customized specifically to meet the challenge. A proof of concept will be created based on a heterogeneous dataset from the aeronautical system.

The final prize will be awarded at the sole discretion of the evaluation jury, made up mainly of representatives from Leonardo, academia, and the military. The jury will evaluate all proposed solutions in accordance with the rules of the challenge and will identify the winning team.
